# Diabetic Dishes - Turkey Burgers with Avocado Salsa

Diabetic dishes don't have to be bland and boring. In fact, they can be quite delicious and satisfying. This recipe for turkey burgers with avocado salsa is a great example of a healthy and flavorful dish that is perfect for people with diabetes.
**Ingredients**
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/4 cup chopped bell pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 whole-wheat hamburger buns
- For the avocado salsa:
- 1 ripe avocado
- 1/4 cup chopped tomato
- 1 tablespoon chopped red onion
- 1 tablespoon chopped cilantro
- 1 lime, juiced
- Salt and pepper to taste
**Instructions**
**Make the turkey patties:**
1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
2. In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, onion, bell pepper, olive oil, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
3. Form the mixture into four patties.
4. Place the patties on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through.
**Make the avocado salsa:**
1. In a medium bowl, combine the avocado, tomato, red onion, cilantro, lime juice, salt, and pepper.
2. Mash the avocado slightly with a fork.
3. Serve the turkey burgers on whole-wheat buns with the avocado salsa.
**Nutritional Information**
- Calories: 350
- Protein: 30g
- Carbohydrates: 30g
- Fat: 15g
**Tips**
- For a spicier salsa, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
- Serve the burgers with a side of steamed vegetables or a salad.
